I have a radio that quit working and I am wondering how to get to the fuse panel box located underneath the instrument panel. I downloaded a users manual and where it talks about the latch to pull down, I had a hard time finding it in the 10 minutes I had before the sun set. I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction.

Your access panel has a pull to drop it down, or at least mine does. It is to the left of the fuse panel as you lie on your back. It is a black plastic piece, and it is almost right next to the block. You should be able to pull down on it, and the fuse block will drop down.

thats funny they must of used more than one type because mine is a push button and its white...also mine is to the right (passenger side) of the fuse block...lying on my back looking up at the block it is to the left right next to the bottom lip of the dash...i guess we need to know what year his car is,and when ford changed styles...

We have owned several contiques, a 1998 Mystique LS, a 1998.5 SVT, and a 1999 SE Sport. All of these had a pull down toward the passenger side. (I know because I had to change several fuses, mainly the radio fuse on all three cars) The pre 98's my Dad got as pool cars through Ford had white buttons (I think, it's been 7 years since I needed to look at the fuse block in a pre 98 contique.
