although, a one time dyno tuning sounds like more fun than *buy chip, install chip, pray, be disappointed w/ chip, send chip back, pray* (repeat as necessary) BTW, where does one place that beautiful piece of equipment? dash?

Mine's going to go in the second DIN slot right under my gee-whizz looking Kenwood head-unit. Together they should make the car look like some kinda wierd video game.

Brad- way ahead of you on the ITC. As with the S-AFC, it looks real nice, but have you checked to see if it's going to be compatible w/the stock EEC? I havn't read the info on the ITC on APEX-i's website yet.

Chip with a preset spark advance curve (not Ford's random advance timing  )
Pot resistor on IAT
S-AFC for full range A/F tuning

I don't see the benefit... wink

yeah, sounds like hogwash to me laugh
(although the pot/IAT is an area I'm lacking knowledge in, I admit)

The 'Cardoc IAT resistor mod' as it is called is great. I use it, and the power gain in high RPM is great.

And that thing is WAY cheap right now, like $150 orsomething crazy like that. But you can go BOOM in a big hurry with that thing if you put in too much advance. I am weary of that gizmo. Without real "on the dyno" tuning I wouldn't touch the ITC. All the same, something has to be done to the poor ignition timing control my 2000 has. It sux! mad

As easy as these engines "talk" to you when they have to much advance, you'd be hard pressed to not know when they're getting detonation. Grab your Autotap or other OBD-II program and set it up. The fuel trim via the S_AFC is going to be the tricky part... Need a wide band sensor to do it right, keep that one for the dyno for sure.

The ITC should be compatable since it mostly works on a crank/cam magnetic sensor delay and sends a false signal towards the ECU. We have both the crank and cam sensor, so it may be just "pick one" to make it work. Not sure until I find a set of instructions or full write up to know for sure...

I'm content with a pre-set spark curve of my chosing... laugh
I have it all plotted out for when I send my chip back to get re-flashed. All sorts of good stuff going on...

The resistor can be used to alter part thottle timing. Since it uses the Chips/PCMs tables during WOT.

The S-AFC can modify chip fuel tuning without the need for the chip to be re-flashed once you have your optimum advance curve, redline, & secondary point (for those who will have them  ).

Yes I ordered one... laugh Even if I made half the IS300's gains 7HP/6TQ - that beats nearly any other mod. 10/10?, 15/10? for ~$400... Plus the ability to "re-tune" it later... ...and a laptop to record it all on... I promise to share... wink
