Have this asked before, Will the V-AFC work with the vtec controller to control the secondary on our car??
I have quota price for a S-AFC in Hong Kong for US$300 while I was there this summer. I tink it's a bit cheaper than getting it here.

No. S-AFC (which will work) is the same price.

Hey guys, for anyone who reads SCC magazine they had a spread on an IS300 with I/E and an S-AFC custom tuned on a dyno. It was a great write up. If memory recalls SCC was able to generate an additional 10WHP just with S-AFC tuning, which is good enough for me to consider it. Most engines, including our Duratecs, run very rich under WOT conditions. S-AFC's would allow us to tune the A/F ratio and generate more power up top. My guess is we'd see at least 5-10WHP just with a well tuned S-AFC if the basic I/E mods are already installed on the car. If I still have the SCC article I'll try and scan it in tonight and post up links...

I keep that rag proppped open to that article right here on my desk. smile

They got peak gains of 14hp and 12tq, with nice improvements over the entire range. Other mods to the car were very mild - so I'd expect at least those kinds of gains here.

Heh,

Not bad for under $300 and the cost of some dyno tuning, better return than most mods it seems...

I agree with Derk2000, but it does not provide timing control or adjusted redlines, but there are other ways around that. I know that an S-AFC would make the #19 (or even the #24) injector swap and easy one.

I'm not concerned about my redline. I'm honestly a little worried about my headers...I want to get the most power I can outta those puppies. Ug, another 300 plus dyno tuning? eek! eek Bicycle019 - you still thinkin' on this one? I'd be interested seein' one in action. Need help on the install? laugh
