Negative battery cable is the easiest way for me too...the fuse thing for some reason did not work for me.
You best bet, is to find someone in tha CA forum that has a scaner in your area.
Get it scaned and find out waht to code is....If reseting the CEL by doing the fuse or battery removal, does not work and the CEl returns, get it scaned to see whats wrong.

Yes, it's fuse #6 that holds the power for the computer memory, so if you pull it, you wipe the memory of the fault codes!
So are they different through different year SVTs? I know this has probably been hashed, but just to clarify.
GoldTour, I have a scanner if you want to use it. I see you're in Pomona, I'm in San Bernardino. If you want to drive down here, I'd be glad to see what the code is.

Just tried the fuse method. I removed 6 and 11. light went away. drove it for about 5 miles im not sure if that was enough though, and the light did not comeback.
i dont have an SVT. mine is kinda of a look-a-like in progress. I am not sure if the fuses are different. I just looked at the SVT supplement for the 2000 owners guide and it doesn't show a different fuse configuration. i do think that they are different year to year.
Hey jonnySVT if my light does come back maybe i will head on over to your area it's only about 15-20 minutes from Pomona.
thanks for the help
