120K on the orignal pump.

But that makes me wonder if my hesitation problem at low RPMS has anything to do with fuel pump.

How could someone tell the pump is shot or going to die ???

It's been hesitating in low RPMs no matter how much gas i have in the tank.

Thanks

If they are going out that soon, maybe you forgot to replace the strainer (not the fuel filter).

What are some good aftermarket replacements? I've got 120k and have been thinking about replacing/upgrading mine.

Will the one that BAT sells work for the Zetec? I thought that it was only for the Duratec. (Even though I wouldn't think that it would matter.)

Later,

Time for some part # matching... what I know for sure is that not all return style pumps are the same, even for Zetecs.
I have a '97 car but for some reason it came with a '96 style fuel pump - the only difference being the shape of the electrical connector (and about $40 at autozone...).

They changed mine at 160 000 kms (100 000 miles) cause they thought that the pump was causing my "bucking" installed new one same thing happened, so they reinstalled my old one and when i sold it at 178 000 kms (111250 miles) it was still running strong

I've got somewhere around 130K on both of my zetecs. As far as I know, both of them have the original pumps, and neither have given any trouble.

I have a 1996 Contour with 151,000 mile and has the original fuel pump. Still runs like new.
