or how many miles you have on it if you never replaced it.
Another thing see I have been on the board for a while, still not sure what years the fuel pump problem is for though.

factory one for about 120k (7yrs) 1st replacement (autozone) for 40k (2yrs), 3rd one (autozone) installed 3 weeks ago.
I noticed that even with the brand new pump I can feel (very slightly though) that the car runs less well if the tank is almost empty. This means that either autozone sells crap, or I don't know how to install a pump or there's something wrong somewhere else. Maybe I'll replace the fuel pressure regulator and see if that helps.

Think your problem is Autozone, Motorcraft 120k, Autozone 40k. See what I'm saying, go to Ford and buy another Motorcraft one.

72K on the original pump. I run it low enough to have the gas light on every time.

57,8xx on the original pump. Car hesitates, stutters, spits, spats, carrys on etc. if I step on it at anything less than half a tank.

original at 126k and I run it to the red on the gas guage

Never had a pump failure on the tour(s), but I once had to put an aftermarket pump on an old Mazda -- somebody crawled under the car and stole the stock one! -- and the replacement sounded like a damn woodpecker! So yeah, some aftermarket ones are crappy. I forget where I got that one...

128K before failure and I run it until the low fuel light is on. Would have probably lasted longer if the sending unit didn't go out because of a couple tanks of bad Ashland/Marathon gas. Turns out that Ashland/Marathon had some problems in the Louisville area with Sulphur, which causes the fuel pump sending units to seize.
