I noticed that even with the brand new pump I can feel (very slightly though) that the car runs less well if the tank is almost empty.
This means that either autozone sells crap, or I don't know how to install a pump or there's something wrong somewhere
else. Maybe I'll replace the fuel pressure regulator and see if that helps.

Think your problem is Autozone, Motorcraft 120k, Autozone 40k. See what I'm saying, go to Ford and buy another Motorcraft one.
