It's got a ton of work done to it, but it doesn't look like it "crashed into a paint store". As I said before, to each his own, but don't crack on someone whose good enough at what he does to have his own successful business doing it. Dean is a genuine class act and deserves all our respect.
Don't get me wrong... I like Dean, I like Dean's car... but I would go a LONG WAY from calling that "Classic understatement." You want understatement? Look at Kontofosho's (BOFH's) SVT... look at BeyondloadedSE's car, look at Demon's or Outlawd's car... THAT'S understated... massive internal mods, tasteful, minimal exterior mods that highlight and enhance.
Dean's car looks nice, but its FAR from understated... major body fabrication, bagged, MASSIVE interior modifications, (formerly) a large wing and tilted plate, and a (certainly expensive) custom color, metal-flake paint job.
Now look at this other car... minimal body mods, MASSIVE interior modifications, a large wing, and an expensive custom paint job.
What's the big deal? Parts of it I don't like (windshield banner and wing, mainly). The rest of it looks hot. Coincidentally, the only things I dont' like about Dean's car are the windshield banner and the (now-removed) wing.
I don't think you should compare it unfavorably to Dean's car, as I'm sure Dean wouldn't approve of that, knowing first hand how much time, effort, money, and pride goes into making a show car.
Sure this guy sounds like an ass, but you are all TREATING him like asses as well. Geez.
