Very simple.
Post your cost (parts + labor) and shop type (chain or not, and if chain, name) for when you had your zetec timing belt changed.

Just looking to see what I will be spending to have this done.

Also, any recommended maintenance while it's in the shop is appreciated.

look t spend about $500 give or take $100. mine cost $450 parts and labor (the belt itself is only 40 bucks, so labor is the killer here). i had a chrysler dealer do it, since my family has been taking there cars there for years and my dad is good friends with the service manager.

Did it myself. Labor usually equals around $200.

labor depends on where you are. i ahd a few private shops offer to do it here for 350, but that was the lowest, and i didnt like the look of the shop..very unestablished...lets just put it that way. i woudl have done it myself, like i do everything else, but i handt ever done it on a zetec and really didnt have the 6 hrs to spare to learn...so i took it to the dealer. they did that, my IAC Valve replacement, coolant flush, tranny flush, rotated my tires, waterpump change and serpintine belt change for 925 dollars...not too bad. i didnt even think about the waterpump, the said i should prolly do it... kind of a while-they-were-in-there thing. and they did it all in 1 day. the also serviced my a/c...but i still need a new compressor, mine grinds...hey kremit, how hard is it to bypass my a/c on the serp belt? do you just buy a non a/c belt? cuase i just snapped one yesterday and i think its the damn compressor that caused it...

cool, thanks hitman! i just wanted to make sure i wasnt needing to bypass any sensor or anything.

BOT, i called a few places for you:

City garage: $500
Midas: $475
Kwik Kar: $475
Jiffy Lube: $500
Xpress Lube: $395

so it all depends on where you go, mostly only the ford dealers want over 500. if you cant seem to get it done for less that 500 do it yourself. PM kremit. im pretty sure he can walk you through it.

as for reccomended maint. have them do the waterpump and serpentine belt. when mine was done they did the following:

Serpintine belt
Trans Flush with mobil 1 Synth (much better!)
Coolant flush
Waterpump
IAC valve (separate problem, not maint. related)
Rear wheel bearing (again, not related)
A/C service (comprssor still grinds, i just snapped that new serp belt because of it)

Spark plugs because one of mine cracked:(because i went bosch now autolite DP's )

all for $925. most places will give you discounts if you have a lot done.

Yeap. And removing the compressor and other a/c parts is very easy if you decide to do so.

And about PMing me if you need a walk through. Maybe best to PM someone else as I'm not great at explaining how to do. Though I can give some useful tips to save time/trouble.
