Body and such was left up to Ford engineering. Driveline was Nissan. While having my van serviced back in the dat the mechanic pointed out the tranny was a Mitsubishi. Seemed odd to me but then again a Ford/Nissan venture seemed odd at the time. Then again Toyota and GM have been sleeping together most recently. And there is the Honda engine in the Saturn Vue in certian models. Either way the Villager has been the most reliable vehicle I have owned to date. Right up till the end of its time with me when all the fit was hitting the Shan with it.
