I have yet another strange problem. My key will not turn in the ignition. I had driven the car all day - in and out on several occasions (at least 4). The 5th time I get back in the car the key will not turn in the ignition. I had several people in the lot and even the tow truck guy was stumped. Any ideas on what it could be and what to do.
By the way I had a spare key and even that did not turn either.

This exact thing happened at my school on their GM, the key has a series of pins it pushes on, to even it out to allow the key to turn, one of them are probaly stuck to not allow the key to turn... time for a new lock cylinder

Does the key go in all the way?? Maybe something is stuck in there that it's not in all the way?

It wouldn't be something as simple as pressure on the steering wheel, would it? Occasionally the steering wheel is left cocked when I park which results in pressure against the wheel lock. The key won't turn until I turn the steering wheel slightly in the opposite direction as I start the car.

The AutoZone technician the other day went out to run a CEL code. He couldn't get the key to turn and after fumbling with it for a minute or so he let me try. I knew what it was and corrected it right away. I won't say bad things about those AutoZone guys - at least they provide a free service.
