John, first of all I am sorry to hear of your loss of a good freind, and your car.
I hope that the incident wasn't a result of something of your mistakes, even though if it were someone's else fault, nothing will bring back your friend.
I guess, I am just hoping for your sake that criminal charges are not being persued against you.
