Its true that it is expensive to get gains, but that is because their is not enough demand/competition in the aftermarket for contours/cougars/mystique in the states. I think that the cars have lots of potential despite its already high hp/liter rating. I think that simple mods such as throttle bodies, exhaust, chips, and intakes really have lots of potential. The real untapped resource with these cars is handling. We need more suspension choices such as coilovers, swaybars, chassis and subframe bracing, and busings/motor mounts.

The contour is never going to blow 'em all away at the drag strip, but it can be made into a really super car if you just focus on the right areas. We need aftermarket companies to market more parts for the right areas of improvement for these cars...like suspension, cooling, and braking. These mods wouldn't cost as much as some hp increasers and would make the car more fun to drive.

Just my opinion.

Stay optimistic guys, aftermarket is slowly growing for the tour, and more is on the way. Dont let pessimism (sp?) kill the contour aftermarket...

Guys please understand one thing here. What are you choices at this point??? What ever happened to the CEG guys in California that were trying to get a(n) answer(s) out of Vadim? Did they ever get in touch with those guys. If my memory serves me correctly they did and the phone call didn't leave a desirable taste in their mouth. Also many CDW-27 owners have turned to FPS out of Atlanta with no avail. in the aftermarket parts ring. Look at the 4.6L aftermarket three years back. Where was it? Nowhere near todays standards. Demand has gone up and price has started to come down. All I am asking is not to shoot yourself in the foot before you find out just what exactly is out there.

Hey Rara, didn't Furd have a focus with the 2.5L at the Spring Zing? What is the weight difference from the 2.0 to 2.5L and then to the 3.0? Using eveything else as a constant. Isn't it somewhere in the neighborhood of an extra 150-200 lbs? Not sure but think thats right.

You can get AEM universal fuel pressure regulators almost anywhere...and for a lot cheaper than what you're selling them for. A-pillar gauge pods can also be found in a couple other online stores. So far it doesnt look too impressive, but i guess ill wait for some new things to come...

Understand something. You are viewing a minute repersentation of what this company has to offer the public; more specifically the limited high performance crowd. They are first and fore most a high performance shop. They *can* get great parts for great prices, but their main focus is their ability to provide you, the customer, with an avenue to support high performance aftermarket when it comes to the contour. As well as a way to have the parts installed without taking all of your bodily lims.

Think of it this way:
Yeah you can get your milk cheaper at Publics, but why spend your time driving across town, your gas there and back when the gas station has that same milk which is only a few bucks more and is right across the street?
Kinda sucks knowing we have guys that are beating the P*SS out of these guys without knowing what they are really about.

I'll be happy if they can get some cams made for around $650.

Oh, yeah low compression pistons for the 3.0 and a nice turbo would also suit me just fine. smile

Well go to it boys, go make my turbo system :p .

Hi guys, I am A part owner Of Innovative Perfromance Technologies, and the one doing the swap for Bill.

I've been in the SHO market for a while and I used to work for FPS in Atlanta. We are a relatively new place....we opened today. I have been doing some mail order type stuff for the SHO's for a while, and we do offer other products than what is listed on our web site. We are new and are trying to work out our suppliers...a couple are way too expensive as I am finding out wink

As one person stated we don't seem very special, well it is not just our parts that are special, but us...the way we do things-but yes a lot of our stuff is special. All of our parts are not online at this moment. We have done a good bit of custom work for the SHO community and I wanted to share it with the Contour group, and I hoped for constructive criticism but I noticed a lot of negativity.I do a lot of performance work on many different cars, I want to include the SVT but if no one is interested then that's ok. The cars that come out of my shop will be some of the baddest ass cars around.I can't promise to be the absolute cheapest all of the time but I can promise to be one of the best shops around.

What else can I say, we have the ability to have custom swaybars made, suspension and engine you name it done.

We are here to be an option so just keep us in mind.

Our phone number is 770-725-4262 (not 4268) laugh

Sorry for the novel wink
