Actually the only University that can call it self just University of Maryland is UMCP (College Park)
But the different UM are not related to each other in any way other than the name. UMUC is completelly seperate from UMBC or UMCP. (but UMUC has it's headquarters real close to UMCP
)
All the different University of Maryland colleges are under the University System of Maryland (USM)
