Ok, I thought it was supposed to be easy to bypass the factory amp on these cars. I bought the bypass harness, found my amp, unplugged the two connectors going to it, went to put the bypass harness on and it doesn't fit. The bypass harness has two ends that essentially look the same. However, the two connectors that go to the amp look totally different. One is rectangular and the other is a square 8 pin connector. The wires going to this connector have a grey wrapping on them. I did a search but didn't find an adequate answer. Can anyone help? I've heard that there are two different amps out there. Did I just get the wrong bypass harness (I don't think I did) or is there more to this? And why can't attach images anymore?

The bypass harness isn't what you think it is. You have to snip and splice anyways.

You want the Scosche 1995-up premium sound amp bypass cable. It is part number FD15.

Yeah, I also bought a bypass harness and the ends didn't match up. Ended up just splicing and soldering the ends together, took a while longer but oh well, got it done.

Yeah, that harness would have been the one that worked. Oh well. I wonder why Best Buy doesn't sell that one. I wound up cutting and splicing. Only one problem. I need an adapter for the antenna because that doesn't fit into the back of my radio. Is that going to be a problem trying to find an adapter?

The reason they didn't sell you that one is that Best buy Doesn't carry it. What they do is take the normal bypass and cut one end off and extend the Speaker wires from your deck down to it.
