The major difference is direct acting buckets verses roller finger followers.
"Technically" it is a superior design but that does not translate to anything on the street or even in a touring car.
Also for what it's worth both the M3 (8100 redline) and the S2000 (9100 redline) have a roller follower design just like the Duratec...
Also the stock Duratec valvetrain can handle 8100rpm without batting an eyelash.
Let me know when you have an engine that can handle that on a daily basis without excessive wear and oil consumption.
Heck much less even have a need to spin that high.
Short answer. It's not worth even looking at.
