Does anyone have a current link for the instructions to build one of these. All of the links I've been able to find searching the archives are dead links .

Too bad that site's down. It really was a nice article. Oh well, Google is your friend.

I did find a nice spin on it though, here.

From what I remember though...

In this design, the top fiting connects to the hose leading to the valve cover and the fitting in the middle connects to the hose leading to the PCV Valve. The fitting on the bottom is a drain. The body of the seperator is made out of 2" PVC pipe, cut about 4 or 5 inches long (IIRC). The top on bottom of the body is 2" PVC caps. The inside of the body is stuffed with 2 or 3 plastic scrubing pads like this

I don't remember what the size's are of the fittings though. Sorry.

I've been wanting to do this, but I just can't bring myself to add a PVC contraption under the hood of my car.

So here is what I will do this weekend: I'm gonna clean up the UIM/LIM and add a PCV restrictor. Come Dragon Run time, we can all take my UIM off & check to see if the restrictor by itself has much effect on the problem. I may even utilized a double restrictor design for maximum impact.

I've read a post by DemonSVT that it can make a profound difference when combined with the oil separator, I'm just wondering what it can do on its own. We shall see...

(writes 'PCV restrictor' in todo list)

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

Slight problem though.

The top fitting goes to the PCV inlet tube at the base of the throttle body opening on the UIM.

The valve cover vents (yes both have vents) are directly fed into the intake boot.

For ref - NO you CAN NOT connect the valve cover vents and the PCV line together or you will start to consume oil very quickly because the constant pull across the line will hold the PCV valve open. Very bad!

Also DO NOT use steel, brass, iron, etc material inside the seperator. ONLY use a plastic material. The metal ones break down and are ingested by your engine where they can and will cause wear and even damage.

2000 SVT #674 13.47 @ 102 - All Motor! It was not broke; Yet I fixed it anyway.

Thanks for clearing that up Demon.

Oh! And about the pic... well, it's the best example of this type online right now, so... well...
