I finally got around to seeing why my key does not unlock the driver's door from out side (97 Tour with power locks, no remote entry, manual windows). I thought the lock cyclinder was shot cuz the key goes in fine but will not rotate. It used to work if I jiggled the key so I think/thought the lock was the problem. I followed the Hayes manual and went removed the door panel fine and then tried to unbolt the two bolts to remove the bezel. First bolt was fine, then the head of the next bolt just snapped off. I did not over do it, it simply snapped. ARGH!!! Now the bezel won't come off and without that, can't remove the lock. What do I do now? Drill it out? Tips?
Another related question:I don't think it is the lock cylinder. When I loosened the three screws holding the thing that clamps to the B pillar when the door is closed (sorry can't think of its name) the keys twists fine, when the "thing" is tighten, no luck. Loosened, back working. Any idea what is amiss or out of alignment or something. Thanks...
