Hello Everyone,

Rally Cross Event #9 will be held this Sunday
07/25/2004 at Watkins
Motorsports Park 6 minutes east of E-470 on Jewell

This is the smoothest course we run all year with few
to no rocks. This is
the first event of the year in the Denver Area so here
is your chance to
have fun on the dirt without a long drive from home
for the locals.
Preregistering is reccomended but not required.

Entry fee is $25 for SCCA members and $30 for non
members who are encouraged
to participate.

Participants normally get three runs in one direction
and then three runs on
the reverse course after lunch. All times are added
together for a final
score. Events end between 2-4 pm on average.

Please contact me if you need further information
about the event or
classing.

make it, meaning, attend? or enter your car?

believe me, it's so fun, if you are a fan of the rally sports....

and if you have autocrossed before, then this will seem familar to ya... i was a little nervous my first time, but it was great.

there might be a few AWD turbos out there, i saw a tricked out rallied up, VR4 Galant, Talon, etc. and i saw a few Mazda 323 AWD turbos ....one black one was totally awesome at going around those cones in teh dirt. if you were to put rally stickers all over his car, you'd think it was a real rally car, the blowoff valve was going off and he would drift around the cone, like a pro.

i emailed Grant about how much more softer Watkins is compared to Pueblo...and this is what he says...and then some..

"It's actually the smoothest event in the series. The
dirt is mostly hardpack with little to no big rocks
like in Pueblo. There can sometimes get a few ruts
but we try to keep an eye out for them developing and
adjust/fill as needed. The first event at Watkins was
won overall by a WRX on Falken Azenis
(autocross/street tire) if that gives you any idea of
the surface. I heard your Focus had some new decals.
I really liked your car at Pueblo. I was telling my
friends Brian and Erika that they need to get a set of
tail lights like yours for the Focus rally car they're
building."

hey, PM me for your email, and i'll forward you an email from this guy, with an Excel page, to preregister ....very simple to fill out and email to him....
He says that it can make registration faster and less complicated, so you can just show up and pay your entrance fee, and go from there...

peace.
Looks like i'm gonna have to put on my mudflaps back on, on Sat...

ok...email sent......

PS. your email in your profile won't let me email you the forwarded email with the preregistration form....
