I have to admit i dont think there is worse traffic anywhere than NYC than maybe LA but that is on the other side of the country and really doesnt count to us because that is a hike to get there. but in albany the traffic is not that bad. rush hour sux but that is about the only bad time. there are a few dumb drivers but nothing like the times that i have gone to the city

I feel your pain. I make the drive from PA to CT 4-5 times a year as I go to school up there. It's a scary drive and I wish I didn't have to do it.

Sorry to hear of your little incident.

If your insurance agent is cool, I would talk to him and ask him what he thinks you shoud do.
He will have some good advice, and won't act on anything unless you tell him to.

At 5 mph. you won't have any claimable damage, but what you need to be concerned with
is what this a$$h0le may do with your information.
Identity theft is on the rise, and you could see summons for things that you do not drive !

You need to talk to someone and get and idea of what YOU need to do to protect yourself.
Worst thing you could do is change your plates and your license.
It will only protect you from harm.

I hope the next time you plan on coming through NYC, you plan on writing me PRIOR to your trip.
I'll tell you when is the best time to cruise through this neck of the woods ...

Unless you are driving through at 2am I-95 through NYC is no fun. Not to say that I haven't done it, in the rain, in a Diesel 17ft Uhaul

Try DC around Rush Hour. You might be surprised.

And take Cain with you to take pictures.

DC and NJ-NYC area are tied for the worst for me. I hate when there is one of those huge backups.... I'm all excited to see what the hell I have been sitting in traffic for an hour... it ends up just some damn cop sitting in the median during rush hour.

Or the people who would rather die then let you merge when one lane is closed.

I also like the H2 driving soccer mom on the highway who inadvertantly changes lanes as she adjusts her hair and makeup.

I also enjoy motorcycles doing wheelies on 95 during rush hour. Another favorite for 95 in NJ is debating whether to take the regular or the truck side of it only to find out there is an accident on the side that your took.

2nd on my list is South Jersey shorepoints area during the summer. Forget about getting anywhere on friday night and sat morning. Suburbans with luggage carriers on the roof, S-class Mercedes packed with old people, Superdutys with 30ft boats or waverunners and high-schoolers in their Wranglers all packed onto the same road. I almost forgot about the sea of minivans also.

Recent studies:

=American Road and Transportation Builders Association=
=American Public Transportation Association=
"...the study ranks the Washington region third worst among the largest cities, based on how crowded its roads are."

"The area ranks second for the worst traffic during the morning and evening peak."

=The American Highway Users Alliance=
"...the nation's worst 24 bottlenecks where drivers experience at least 10 million hours of delay annually at each site. These top 24 are located in 13 metropolitan areas: Atlanta, Chicago, Cincinnati, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Providence, San Diego, San Jose, Seattle, Tampa and Washington, D.C."

=Texas Transportation Institute (TTI)=
"San Bernardino (Cal.) area comes in first, with commuters spending 76 hours in traffic jams each year, while Washington, D.C., ranks second with 70 hours spent in traffic jams."

Although NY / NY #1 in rudeness & safety!

Well Jersey doesn't surprise me for anything anymore. I mean, besides Kevin Smith, what good is it?

Anyone who says Skid Row will get a Fed Ex'd ass kicking from North Carolina... With Saturday Delivery free of charge.
