Nice job on digging up the old thread. DSMs can be fast, but they're not as good as you make them out to be (ESPECIALLY non-turbo ones). They're definitely not fun to keep running.

Dear Santa,

I think I've been a relatively good boy this year so I should deserve something special. Besides that 2000 CSVT I've had on my list since I was 14, I think you should use your magical powers to grant all the newbies the ability to read ALL the posts in a thread before replying with something we've all discussed 500 times over by now. Thanks for your time.

Best Regards, Chris

PS: I wasn't the one who got Rudolph drunk last year. Really.

Check 'em out folks. AWD not good compaired to a FWD on eclipses? suuuuuuure. And look at how many 95+ are at the top of that list. There is a reason why the 92 and earlier ones are at the top of that list (and only 5 in the top 25 that are 95+). I have had a talon for 2 years now and have read a LOT on them. You can buy a decent used one for around $2500 and put $4000 in them and you are running mid to high 11's (most of the time that is without nitrus). The AWD is a huge factor two....you will not spin the tires out, so you can launch at almost any RPM. The engine is also bulletproof....I have 180,000 miles on it and it runs smooth. Also, getting aftermaket parts are sooooo easy to get it really isn't even funny. Putting them in is also easy because there is space under the hood, unlike the contour. I do own a 95 contour se with a five speed and it does go, but when you compair them to dsm's, a dsm is going to spank most of the contours out there....even SVTs. Sorry to break this news to you people. Heck, even the early nonturbo models people are getting those to 60 in a low seven seconds. They really are good cars....if you see one at a good price pick it up...I promise you won't be disappointed. Thanks for letting me ramble!

bahahahahahahh
low 7's LOL
show me the article?

i've raced PLENTLY of bolt on 2g and 1g n/a's. Even a full exhaust(headers back), aem cai, and it even had lightened pulleys 2g gs. its butt got kicked once 5500 hit in 3rd gear. And i've got a whole filter and heatshield on my svt.

as for the point of this thread, you are going to get your ass kicked if the person can drive.

stock vs stock I pulled past a 2g gsx from a roll. And it did take a while for me to get past it.
a stock 2g gst would have walked away and I wouldn't have been able to catch up unless the driver redlined every gear.

now incase eldie wants to argue about dsm's.
look at my sig

This shows your ignorance right there. Linking from the most misinformed site eVAR, DSM Tooners. Try a real site for reading pleasure, ok?

Where is Brent Rau on your list? He has the fastest DSM out there running 7's at over 185, yet nowhere to be seen on your list? Oh, and that is in a '99 by the way.

Ever launch an AWD? How easy is it?? Bog the luanch and you'll be saying buh bye to a good powered FWD.

Once again, your list is flawed. Out of the top 25 fastest FWD DSM's, 13 of them are 2G DSM's. Over half!! And what is this reason you so speak of? Cause they are 7 bolts? I bet 90% of them have 6 bolt swaps!!

Read more, you need to. It is abvious you have ZERO clue as to what you are mumbling about.

Give me your $4000 mod list so I can see it would ya? A decent turbo, WG, dump will cost you OVER a grand. Throw in a good front mount, the piping, a 3" turbo back, you are at about $2500. I am sure you will have some ghetto bullcrap mods, but Istill wanna see your list.

Sure you can...tool

LOL, you moron. It is not bulletproof. It is an interference engine!! One slip of the belt, or a break in it, say night night termite! I went through 3 shortblocks in my 11 second taln, and 2 in my 12 second GVR4. So don't tell me they are bulletproof. Maybe your 14b powered maserpiece is, but throw some REAL mods on it and we will see how it handles the power.

Your are really a dumbass, you know that?

Why do you own a DSM AND a Contour??? Hell, your DSM is the bomb diggity, sell the tour and make your DD DSM a fricken 8 second MONSTA!!!

The yare very HIGH maintenance cars. Make it fast and you will break stuff....

Now go away
