ok i have a 2000 svt tour 43k on it and i start it up but does not stay onuntill i put foot on gas petal i can drive it but can not let off the petal? is it a fuel filter/pump problem or i also was told an iac plug or valve? how do u replace or locate thse things in this bunched up engine?

The fuel filter is about a 5 minute cheap job that probably needs to be done anyway, just be careful and take the proper precautions.

If that didn't fix it, you might need to take it in to have the fuel pressure checked, the data stream looked at, etc...before you just start replacing the parts.

problem fixed my throttle intake/air intake was dirty so i got some cleaner and now its fine

Sweet.

It must have been pretty scudded-up.

About every 15,000 miles I make it a point to clean my throttle plate...I'm warned in advance...I know that it's time to clean it when the throttle just barely sticks on me, the very first time that I go to give it that gas, at first starting the engine of a morning.

b.t.w. I use Sea Foam's *Deep Creep* and a toothbrush to loosen up the crud, then do a little fine clean-up work with 3M's Throttle Plate cleaner. They're not too harsh, does a perfect job, and they don't load up the motor with excess cleaner during the process.
