I thought i would ask before i try.

Has anyone tried this?

I saw those headlamps a while back on a red Contour made out of fiberglass (THE ONE WITH THE MIRKO LIP)

I've worked with fiberglass before on my old festiva's rocker pannel but i have never done what i'm going to try.

I want to take a CAST of the rear of a STOCK 95 headlamp assembly and then line the casting with fiberglass then sink in pair of OPTILUX Halo Beams then finish it off with fiberglass.

Any problems you can think of that i may experience?

Or maby another way of doing it?

Thanks

Eddie

You'll need to use fiberglass matting & resin...not the stuff that comes in a can like bondo. Also you'll need to make provisions for levelling the lamps. I'm not real clear on how you were going to accomplish this project, but that's all I can offer

ya i knew about the matte and resin but i heard of a fiberglass product call KITTY HAIR they use it in small areas to create shapes and so on.

I plan on making a mount out of lexan so the lamps themselves can be aimed or repaced if nessesary then covering the whole peice with a moulded peice of lexan to match the contour of the lamp and make it flush with the front body line.

The picture in my head seems to work, now just the practical application is needed.

I ran across this on a different forum I am on. Perhaps it could be helpful to you?

And, just keep in mind, one of the factory aimers are right in the center of the pre-98 lamp. Its possible to have your highbeam socket where the stock piece is, but it might make you run a really small lamp. Of course, that is only if you plan on using the OEM aimers. If you use a different lamp, like the 90mm units from Hella, they have thier own aimers and it could make your job slightly easier.

Something tells me that your are somewhat going after the look that is on my car.
