Perhaps we can get a friendly visit from Phil. He's got more experience with these trannies than I do.

Calling Unisys12!!!

Uh Jim, I posted almost two hours before you did.

I attempted to adjust the TPS in several different setting by rotating it around and nothing has improved. Is it possible that the TPS is damaged and that I should get it replaced?

Unplug the connector and put an ohmmeter between the middle and bottom (I think) pins. when the throttle is opened slowly the meter should change smoothly with the position from near zero to the pots max. Between the middle and top pins the opposite should occour.

If the meter does not follow the shaft position repeatedly, either the TPS is not hooked onto the shaft or it is damaged.

"Did the engine rpm go way up or did the car just kinda lug & gradually accelerate?"

Im having this problem right now, rpms increase to 4k sometimes when im trying to move from a stand still, its a ATX but it feels like im holding the clutch in and slipping it out at 4k. Im going to try that "1-2 bang" shift fix to see if thats the problem but i dont think its the same symptoms
