can i get an opinion between sylvania cool blue low beams and the hellas? is one more reliable than the other?

They are both probably quite reliable, as both have good names. But, if you drive in the rain or snow at all, stay away from Cool Blues. Any time you colour the bulb, you are filtering our the light. They will NOT work as well as even the regular Canadian Tire bulbs.
However if the looks are all that matter, they should be fine.

Buy high beam bulbs and modify them to fit the low beam sockets. 2 minutes work = a lot more light. BTW I use the Silverstar bulbs.

http://www.overboost.com/story.asp?id=102As for the issue of driving in snow, the regular low beams seem to work well. Less glare. In heavy snow, I don't even use the brights. I also turn down the instrument panel. Of course, i have light-sensitive eyes. I have read others who live in snowy areas posting to this board that they were pulling their Silverstars after a bad winter experience. Others have noted that they are bad in the rain.
