I had the signs of fuel pump failure around 63k miles with loss of power in the upper RPM's with under a 1/4 of a tank of gas. By 66k miles, the pump died with over a 1/2 of a tank of gas in the car and left me stranded at my parents house in VA. I might suggest that anyone who has experienced the premature symptoms of fuel pump failure go ahead and replace it as soon as possible.

I'd like to thank a few people for the information they contributed; it really helped me save some money and get the fuel pump switched out quickly.

Thanks to Trapps for the How-to article.

Thanks to DemonSVT for the Focus SVT pump part number and information:

And finally, thanks to CHF_Slapaho for his additional notes on swapping in the Focus SVT pump; these saved a bunch of time.

I added the Focus pump part# and the "additional info" to the Duratec Maintenance FAQ.

Thanks for the additional info.
