The whole point was that four months ago, that was the repost of the day. It was a more subtle approach to calling repost. Obviously a bit too subtle

Ummm HERE..since no one can believe the value of my car, since my appraiser is now "on drugs" and since you guys won't STFU, here is a copy of my appraisal.

Now you can quit whining like little girls about my car and get over it already. If it's not your style then keep your mouth shut, didn't your mother's teach you that back in grade school??? It's a show car, I customized it to be extravagant, if your gonna do it why not do it big??? If you don't like it be mature enough to move on to the next thread, don't sit here and jump on the bashing bandwagon. It's getting old

It's custom, which actually decreases the value of the car. What your appraiser's OPINION (as stated in the appraisal)does not (repeat does NOT) affect true resale value.

Go check blue book value of the car. Age, mileage, etc. You'll get FAR less than what the appraisal is. Nobody in their right mind would offer you any more than 1/3 of your "appraisal."

There are statements of "I believe," and "In my opinion," which are NOT fact. Yeah, you could have sold it for that much to that guy (read: sucker). But, you'll notice that a large portion of the folks on here (who generally KNOW the 'tours the best) won't even think about it.

Nevermind the fact that I could have typed up that same appraisal up myself and made it look just as official.

Why not do it big? Because it's not a big car.

Go take a look at Dean Joyce's "show car," then come back and tell me yours is nicer. Not by a long shot. Dean knows what looks right on and with the car, how its looks are understated, and how to make it look GOOD (read: not like @$$ with some silly paint scheme).

And, you posted pictures of your car in a public area, expect opinions to be heard, for the better OR worse.

I don't like the looks of the car, but why is everyone getting so upset about it? Who gives a flying [censored] what kind of car the original was supposed to be? I have seen some pretty extravagant Civics at car shows that were very popular even though a civic was meant to be commuter car. Appraisals have to be taken with a grain of salt. For insurance purposes, an appraisal has a completely different meaning than it would for a sale. Can he get 25k? Probably no chance in hell, but anything is possible. If it were totalled or stolen, the replacement value could easily get that high or higher depending on the insurance riders placed on the vehicle.

Or depending on how good of a lawyer he could get I imagine he could get well over his selling price from an insurance total with a decent lawyer. Not that I condone that sort of act, just saying is all....

Replacement cost is replacement cost. As long as the insurance is aware of it and the policy covers the modifications, lawyers shouldn't need to get involved. Replacement cost ≠ value.

Its not really my cup of tea either. But I have seen the car at the Detroit Autorama a few times. I have to say the paint and workmanship are top notch and it does look better in person. To each their own, right? When we pay for someonelse's car then we have the right to tell them what it should be, but not before.
