i took out the t stat cause my SVT has been running real hot lately. i just replaced the t stat and wp last month.

the 1 month old t stat looked like the t stat i took out at 90k miles. all corroded and it was broke apart.

do you think that there is something more wrong with the car causing this to happen?

my buddy at napa told me if the t stat looks that bad after 1 month, then the motors internals are looking close to it too. is that true?

what do you all think is going on?

thanks in advance.

i would say you just had a faulty t-stat, no big deal except for the $$$ spent. call the company who made it and let them know their p[roduct was faulty. you might get a replcement adn or refund out of it. but i would say your motor is fine...unles syou let it overheat, but even then, it would have to way overheat to do much besides blow your headgasket(2 if you have a v6).

I'd do a complete system flush. upper hose will fall apart causing water pump to leak, etc.
