Finally saw for the first time Stanley Kubricks "The Shining" Isnt it a good scary movie. I really dont get scared with scary movies, but this one was pretty scary. My wife had trouble sleeping last night. Heck she cant even watch chucky. Does anyone know of a good scary movie? Its hard to find good scary movies these days.

That is MY FAVORITE horror / suspense movie.  I liked The Ring a lot as well, so try that one out.

It's a little old, but I thought Jacobs Ladder was good.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre's. Original and new one scared the living beeJEBUS outta me. I typically can handle the crazy, paranormal, a little outta this world ones, but for some reason, I was just like "CRAP! What if my car breaks down on one of my road trips, and I stumble upon some freaky family like this! It could happen, these some weird f'in people out there!!!!" And now, let's just say my coolant, oil, and fuel is checked often, and kept in it's best state. Maybe I'm just a sissy to the movie, any other opinions? Most of my friends never saw it, said they heard it was just too gory/scary for them, so I never really heard much about it from other people.

Ive seen the ring, good scary movie as well. havnt seen jacobs ladder or texas chain... but ill be sure to watch these movies. I've seen Mothman prophecies several times, wasnt it scary. Just the simple fact that it is based on true events.

Check on ebay, for the japanese version of the ring (ringu), and get ringu 2, and ringu 0. It's the sequel, and prequel to the ringu. Ringu is basically the exact same thing with the ring, except it'll make you jump and give goose bumps on other scenes.
Part 2 is about the same level as the original, but 0 is scarier.
the ring is a rip off, from Japanese psychotic, yet genius minds.
