when i bought door speakers i went with infinity kappa 6x8's. they are pretty high quality. the thing that got me is they came with a filter that connected before the speaker in the wireing as to filter out bad or weak signals (i assume) was just wondering if anyone knew how they worked?

Probably a bass filter, or a high pass filter for the tweeter.

no it doesnt look like that (well at least not with the plastic case). the kappa 5x7 has a passive crossover that sends the correct frequencies to the mid and tweet, respectively. i hope u did use it.

yeah the crossover should have internal resistors and other doohickeys. and the kappas are 5x7. the model # should be 572.5 they are sold to people needing 6x8s. the mounting holes generally can fit both. they come with 6x8 adapters if needed
