I lent my car to my sister for 2 months...and she totaly trashed it. The brakes are not just gone but grinding (to the point there are groves in the roters). The tires are down to the thread. The car wont start now (alternator most likely). And to top it off there are 6000 more miles on it than when I gave it to her.

It is a black 98.5 svt w/ 82,000 mi. In great condition retail is about $6,400. Trade in is $4850. With all the work that needs to be done would $4000 be too much to ask?

Damn dude, why would you loan an SVT? And no offense, but to a woman,(nothing against women, not saying they can't take care of vehicles, just implying that most aren't enthusiasts therefore would not be inclined to baby the car)? I know how it is with family, and of course I don't know the circumstances, so don't take it the wrong way, I'm not trying to give you [censored]. With that said, fix it up and $4000 should be reasonable...

IF it's in good shape, the trade value would be $4800. With all that work, and assuming she was equally abusive to the interior, a dealer will offer way less than $4000.

I would buy it from you, if you can give me a few weeks to scrape together the money.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.
