Art, I may have a few details wrong, so don't quote this as gospel. It should get you started though. Originally posted by art: is there any difference between the cream injectors fitted to the 170hp v6 and the yellow ones fitted to a 99 svt v6
The 170hp injectors are rated at 17lb/hr. The SVT injectors are 19lb/hr.

I think you'll have to use the SVT MAF in order to use the SVT injectors. Your MAF isn't calibrated for larger injectors. If you're going SVT UIM, LIM, TB...you might as well go the whole nine yards!
Hope that helps. Anyone, please correct me if I'm wrong on that MAF/Injector relationship.

If you use the 19# injectors you will need a custom tuned chip to make sure you don't run rich. You have to tell the PCM you're flowing more fuel, and the chip does that.
Since you'll need a chip, I don't beleive you have to mess with the MAF. StreetFlight burned me a chip for my 3L and the 19# SVT injectors I'm using for use with my stock MAF.
I can't remember of the SVT MAF actually is larger than the stock SE MAF.... maybe someone can answer that for you. If the SVT MAF isn't larger, then I don't think there's a point to using it instead of your stocker.

svg maf and late model v6 maf's are the same size
you dont need a chip to run 19lb injectors, im doining it and its working fine
no point in getting the svt maf because it does not control the injectors either as said above you would need to get a chip set to 19lbers, or if you have a manual tranny you could run an svt ecu, plus it has more aggressive timing
98.5 Black SE ATX
S&B filter, SVT MAF, optimized SVT TB, mesh grille, removed orange reflectors, painted rear reflector, gutted pre-cats, optimized SVT LIM, 19lb injectors, resonator removed
cant afford an svt but lookin for 1 in nc

clarification: you don't HAVE to have a chip to run 19#ers, but others I beleive have had lower performance (same performance as the 17#ers IIRC) running the 19#ers without a chip due to running so rich.
If you get a chip, it will help the computer dump the proper amount of fuel in the chambers for you, thus reaching your power potential.
