Today I was driving with my sister and infant nephew and my ABS light popped on, about 10 seconds after I noticed that my gauge needles jumped a few times and then my RPM and MPH needles dropped to 0, but the car was still running. I pulled over in a gas station, turned it off and it would not crank again. I had to get it towed, they scratched the front bumper in the process (its getting painted anyway so thats the least of my problems) and now I'm begging rides to work.

I'm thinking its the alternator but I'm open to suggestions to tell my shop. Thanks!

Alternator sounds liek a possibility....but usually there battery power would not drain that fast (it took 2 days for mine to drain to the point it would not start).

It sounds more like a bad ground to me, possible the Mega Fuse went bad.(located just above the rear valve cover, on the main wire to the alternator).

My gagues did that, when my positive battery cable accidently rubbed up against my exahust manifold and grounded out....thats why i believe it may be a ground.

If you haven't seen the charging light coming on, my guess is the megafuse. My car died with the same symptoms you described and it was the megafuse.
