Can someone explain to me how to make a crossover(the radio shack way). I don't have a lot of money to spend and I just need something to block out the high freq. for my sub.

That wiring diagram looks kind of confusing to me. So if I was making a low pass crossover I would put L1 in the pos. wire and then put the C1 connecting the pos. and neg.? Do I just solder the wires to the capacitor? Sorry I am kind of new to this part of car audio.

Exactly. I would solder the capacitor to the two terminals on the speaker and then solder the inductor in line with the positive wire and the positive terminal.

You've got it. Solder or crimp. Electrical connection is metal on metal. The solder just holds it together. The capacitor is ually directional, though.

I understand how to do the inductor but do I just put one side of the capacitor on the pos. side of the speaker and the other on the neg?. Also which Frequency do you recommend?

Yes. You are correct. I would use 100 hz.

Concerning the "directional" part, capacitors used in crossovers are not (or should not be) polarized (directional). They will be either a "film" type (expensive) or non-polarized electrolytic. Radio Shack does not sell the film type in high enough values for use in a subwoofer crossover, but I believe they do carry a limited number of non-polarized electrolytics.
Even better, check out www.partsexpress.com for either crossover parts or already-assembled subwoofer crossovers at very reasonable prices.
