has anybody upgraded to the bulb that has like 8 LED's in stead of 1 bulb? i have a brakelight out and was considering upgrading it, but was wondering how they perform and if you lie em or not.

they retail for 11.99, slightly higher than the 2.99 a piece for regular bulbs.

i have tried them on another car and they made his brake light light up a lot better, he had tried them in his front turn signals and through orange lenses you could see the bulbs were red so they are very powerful little suckers. when we put them in his taillights the clear bulbs that were in there were lighting up the lights kind of a lighter red then when we put the led's in there, so i would try them, i know i am, whenever i go out today

I heard that when you install the LED bulbs into your car it makes them blink faster, i.e. if you installed a regular bulb wrong, its this true

It is true if you don't install a resistor to take the current. An LED runs off of far less current than a regular bulb, so the car thinks that the bulb is about to go out, hence it blinks rapidly. If you install a resistor to take the regular amount of current and keep the car happy, and then supply the lower amount of power to the LED, you'll be fine.

With a resistor it wil blink "faster" . What I mean is it will light up quicker (fractionally) than a filament bulb too. Just take a gander at your spoiler Roger. It lights up a tad quicker than the rest. Anyway, my point is...

Some people tested the advantage of LED's for brake lights and used the Deville (all LED brakes lights) compared to non-LED or filament bulbs. At HWY speeds, 60-0 MPH the car behind the deville reacted 12 feet sooner than the filament bulb car. Now that's only a fraction of a second but, still 12 more feet in an emergency stop

i was actuallt referring to these. that site answered my question.

thanks, but i dont feel like spending 600+ dollars upgrading to an all LED brake light...for 12 feet of extra stopping which will depend almost entirely on how well the person behind me is paying attention anyway...thanks though!
BTW, i saw one of those cars with a brake light out on my way home from work this morning, that'll be a wallet popper to fix!

Oh nono, you don't need this intricate design, but if you did get a LED socketed bulb, it looks better, and is safer because of brightness and quick light up
