i still think the clutch would go before the motor,... my friend accdently put an 83 nessan pickup in 3rd from th instead of 5th @ 60 MPH...boom, the chutch was a total loss, but the engine stil ran fine.

This is what we call a classic case of mechanical over rev. No rev limiter will save you here and if the clutch is half way decent it won't either. The SVT clutch can take a lot of abuse. A lot more than a 83 nissan pick up. Who's to say he didn't have a SPEC anyway?

Trust me the CSVT clutch isn't that much bette anyway. I actually went through mine last summer, sad to admit. I did a hard launch from about 2500 RPM and caught it just right and the end result was a $1300 repair job at Jerome Duncan (yes I know I got taken on the price). I'm just disappointed that the guy didn't let me keep the parts to show off because of the core on them. I tossed the throw out bearing right through the pressure plate and snapped the clutch disk in half causing all the springs in the clutch to go everywhere but where they are supposed to be The mechanic even said he has installed over 500 clutches and never seen anything like it in his whole career.

there's a good way to lose a tooth off the diff.... abnd when that happens I wish you the best of luck in finding a pre 98 Zetec MTX-75 tranny to replace the one you just broke.
