The resistor is ok, otherwise the fan would not operate. The resistor is going to be a very low resistance, I don't know offhand what value, but on the kohms scale, zero is not suprising. Try reading the resistance on a lower scale like 50 or 100 ohms. (a kohm is one thousand ohms)

Thanks for the tip. I assumed everything was ok with the fan and fan speeds, but it was already out and really easy to test. Oh, and by the way to all, I had absolutely no codes during the self tests. I'm taking it in to a shop this morning. I've got no more time to deal with it, and the car has to be in tip top shape for July 4th weekend.

Well, as it turns out, the leak is coming from the water pump. And the warranty has expired on my replacement pump. Any recommendations on the best pump? I'm guessing Ford will be the best.
