Oh yes, I can testify to that! The power poops out at about 6100ish. I did have my SE down to a 15 flat, so that's around sub 7's to 60. Stock, the booger ran a mid 15!
Stock specs (V6 MTX)... eh 0-60 in mid to high 7's and 1/4 in mid to high 15's.

the intake manifold and motor are stock. :-D
powerwise notable 16g fmic 3inch exhaust custom intake with a 9 inch k&n
probly future mods 57trim, stg 3 whl .48ar new 3" 02 and dp 680cc injectors controlled by a keydriver chip i'll need a 2600 act clutch and pp to hold the new turbo's power if I go that route.
but who knows, I might be dumping my dsm for a 99-01 cobra or a 32z.
we'll see how things go
P2 91 tsi awd, not stock
P3 98 CSVT, stock

I did a recording of my exhaust system going 0 to 60 (entering an onramp, started recording from no roll/turned wheel from intersection.)
I have an atx non svt duratec with exhaust mods and intake give or take the new wires: 9.9 seconds.
Give my time recording a tenth or so, can't say it's accurate because it's not track time. Honestly I'd say a 10.2 for accuracy.
I agree, it feels so much faster until You start timing.
(Hah, OOPS, I TOTALLY forgot I was doing a search for timeslips and uhh..got carried away. Sorry mods!)

ouch...
I have a 2000 contour se (v6)AUTo I think the problem is the tran. But i ran a 17.5 the other day. I think it can do the quarters in high 16's.

My auto V6 Mystique ran a 16.8 at 83.4 mph....
Get on the go pedal quick... I launched at 2k and got right into it, by the time my foot was off the brake, the go pedal was down. I wouldn't be surprised to see the car run better considering the conditions were so-so, very humid, about 65 degrees according to the timeslip...

The 2000 ATX Duratech ran 0-60 in 9.7 seconds and the 1/4 in 18.4 seconds. These are offically "un"= offical times.
The SVT ran 0-60 in 6.7 and 1/4 in 15.3.

My 99 ATX duratec ran the 1/4 in 16.8 (with o/d on, which means sport mode was off) Plus, my TB didn't open up completely either...
