Anyone put a flowmaster muffler on their 2.5L SVT? I'm curious to know what it sounds like. My friend just put one on his mustang and it sounds sweeeeet. I know its not going to sound like that, but if it has any comparable growl, I'll be getting one. My thought is to put one where my resonator used to be and run straight pipes back and out to 4" tips. Any thoughts on that setup?

If this muffler doesn't work well with our cars soundwise I'll be going with a magnaflow muffler, same setup. I heard good things about it. At the same time, I'll be throwing on an offroad y-pipe with no cat.

I have 40 series flows...it sounds great at idle...but it gets a little rasp at midrange till the secondaries fully open.

But i don't have a stainless system either. mine piping was crush bent at a shop....My next goal is to finish the exahust and go stainless with magnaflow mufflers....I hear good reviews about them from a few local Ceger's.

Flowmasters sound great on V8s and sound like a$$ on anything else. If you put them on your car expecting them to sound like your friends V8, you will be dissapointed. They also are not a straight through design, so there are better performance options out there as well.

Ok, magnaflow it is. Thanks for clearing that up. Finally, what is the model number of the magnaflow muffler often used with our cars? Again, I just want one muffler where the resonator was, and then straight pipes back to 4" tips. Thanks for your help everyone.

no problem....if you wnat the best sound though, in the long run look at getting a Cat Back system with Magnaflow mufflers.

One of my locals has a system (tru bendz i believe) and it sounds great. Just a suggestion in the long run.

my boy is running the flow mufflers on his and it sounds really clean and has that gargle growl sound, but he doenst get the same performance. i would go with the magnaflows for performance and sound. only one muffler with straight pipes is gonna be a bit loud dude, have fun with that

I used a magna flow resonator & mufflers - Stasi set me up... I went to a muffler shop - cut hem out & welded the new ones in - also reused the tips, but you could pla ahead and get different ones. Also have gutted precats, hiflow ss converter and ss aftermarket y pipe. not too loud, sonds pretty good, especially from behind the car...
