If its overpowering them is there anything I can do to stop this? Should I just take the 2 15's out and put one of the 15's in single box and just run one of them? Or is there something else I can do?

If you have the bass on the deck or amp turned up, I would turn it down until it stops popping. Using one will still be overpowered. By my experience, I would not overpower a Punch sub by very much at all.

IMO, you should be fine just by turning down any bass boost you might have up.

I was listening to my system this morning before work and after work today and I have not heard any poping at all. One of my friends said that they probably just need to be broken in. Could this be the reason they were poping? If this poping problem comes back I guess I can rule out breaking them in. Thanks for all the help.

just out of curiosity do you lights dim with the bass? my subs are popping when I turn them up and I thought it was a problem with the subs but then I noticed that the lights on the amp were dimming with the bass and when it hit hard the amp was cutting off! thats what is causing the popping sound. I'm trying to upgrade my ground and power wires to see if that fixes it, but I dont know...

I had a question similar.... my subs do that sometimes, but its a hard rumble. my front speakers, which are externally amplified, pops when i turn the HU off. is this because the wire that powers the 6x8s isnt fused? the 0 gauge wire up front is fused, then to the distribution block and out of it the 8 gauge wire isnt fused. the 4 gauge wire for the sub amp is fused

Hey, I searched and found a very old post of mine. I am having the problem above with my system. I have the same subs, amp, etc. My subs pop when I have on my headlights and I have my volume turned way up. When the lights are off this doesn't happen. I have not checked the amps yet but I can imagine that they would be cutting out, that makes sense. The subs will pop, no sub reaction for a second or two, and then back to normal. Anyone know how I can get this fixed? I am guessing upgrading some wiring but I am not sure what. Thanks In Advance!

I notice one of my 15's is making a stranger than normal noise but still bumps. Would this problem with the sub be causing the amps to cut out though? I wouldn't think it would.

Anyone out there? I'ma try to kick this post in the rear. Can it be an issue of battery power? My car strangely didn't start one day last week for no apparent reason. Jumped it and it was fine. The susbs seem to pop more now after that has happened. I know it sounds strange and over dramatic but could it be an alternator or could it be the wiring? I know someone here has to know.

With the car running and system and other accessories and lights OFF, try measuring the battery voltage, should be above 14. Your battery could just be weak, so there is no reserve capacity in the car's electrical system. You could have loose or corroded connections at the battery or amp, snug them up. Check amp ground wire too. Push lightly on each woofer cone and see if they move smoothly without scrape noises. A large capacitor might help, but is a "tweak" for a system that has good wiring.
