yeah, i'm new in this site and could use some guidance/suggestions. my susp. is being shipped(BAT kit) and my baer 12"setup has been sitting in a box through my 2nd 'tour.
Here is my question:for the 3.0L conversion, what is the best starting point? taurus or escape? from flipping through some of the MANY forums, it seems like the escape 3.0L has the better oil pan. also, if anyone can tell me what other mods are necessary to complete the conversion,(i.e. wiring harness, returnless fuel line or not), and what or how many other things i will need to make a swap. this is only in planning stages and i am seeking all the advice i can from people who have accomplished this mod. thnx, peace!

Also remember that a Mazda Tribute has the same motor as the Escape .

Presumably you'd want to upgrade to the revised oil pan/windage tray/baffle plate when swapping in the 3L- the (01+?) Escape/Tribute lump already comes with those, so a motor from either of those cars would have more reusable parts.

I don't *think* that the escape/tribute is equipped with the DMD- I'll know for sure tomorrow .

0 mile, $1, 03+ Escape engine is the ideal choice.
