so what do you have to do to get to the alt to batt wire? and also how do you remove the airbox? while we're at it what is the air box?

the air box is the air intake.

my understanding is just accessing the alt to run the wire from one side of the engine where the alt is to the other side where the batt is. though i believe u dont want to actually replace the wire cuz of it being connected to a regulator or some crap so simply add an o-ring connector to whatever gauge power wire u use and add this to the alts pos connector then simply run this wire in unison to the battery

I got the Haynes manual, I think you can replace it. We'll see. Should I use 0 gauge wire for about 1200wrms?

That stuff is just so much harder to bend.... I have 3 feet clear 0ga now, how much more would i need? and are set screw terminalts ok?

Usually the crimp style terminals are easier to use because the loop end is thinner, so you can use a shorter bolt and they won't stick out as far. I don't know about the lentgh though.

No dimming lights so far. The Focus uses pretty much the same engine, transmission and alternator as the Contours. It worked just as well in my duratec Contour. Remember, you are augmenting the factory wires, not replacing them.
