I've been looking at cold air intake recently and I'm probably going to end up buying Weapon R Dragon Cold Air, but before I went ahead and did it I was wondering if anybody else had any other suggestions? Also, What kind of a hp and torque gain can I expect from Cold Air on my CSVT??

Umm maybe 3hp maybe, most people on here will tell you to get the K&N (forgot the number) and an air filter adapter.

You can get a CAI from custom cougars for 150. Theirs is the same thing as GMK's I beleive dont know how much he charges. You can get the K&N and intake adapter for under 100 I think. Hope I helped.

Just a bit of advice:
Use the Search and be sure to read the FAQs pinned at the top of many forums.

All the questions you've been asking:
"What intake should I get?"
"What sway bar should I get?"
"What strut bar should I get?"
"What rotors should I get?"
etc.

Can be answered by using the Search and reading the FAQs in the forums and on the main site - here are a couple links:

I just got around to installing and aftermarket intake for my 2000 csvt. after lots of searching and reading other peoples ideas. i desided onthe k@n filter ru-3530 , maf adaptor, and rubbermaid heat sheild. i got the k&n from summit racing in ohio for like $37 the adaptor i got off of ebay its a kkm for the steal of a deal of$10 and the heatshield i used a rubbermaind bread box that i found around the house. custom svt intake $55 total plus shipping.

this K&N filter is huge way better than any other filter i've found at nopi , pepboys, ect. the k&n is the only way to go # ru-3530. the sound is very powerful. it adds the growl my car was missing its real bad a$$ above 4.5K rpms all the way to redline.

I have an aem cold air with the bypass element on my 91 accord 2.2L sohc with Greddy cat back. and it doesn't sound half as good as my 00'csvt with the k&n and the mufflers removed and replaced with straight pipes. aem cold air $225
bypass element $45 total $270. the intake that is.

the heat shield for the csvt is a must ! the eng bay gets super hot ,even hotter now that its summer time in GA. to build my heatsheild i did a lot of searching . I attempted to build a custom plexiglass heatshield but thigs didn't go
very well during the R&D stages of fabrication.

so i found a rubbermaid bread box and cut to fit . this doesn't take very long ispent about half an hour on it because i wanted it to be perfect.many people have done it in under ten minuites or so i've read. measure twice cut once! - wisdom of bob vila

then i when to lowes and boughtpipe insolationfor about $2 for 6 feet i dont remeber what size i used but it will become obvious once your there.

I almost bought a weapon-r cold air box for the contour v-6 from nopi $102 or at either spmotorsport or cca its $130
but i was able to build a complet setup for $55 . I'm very happy with my results. see what a little research can do !

I took pictures out my intake set up but i don't know how to post them on here so if you want pictures just e-mail me
at revlimter@aol.com .
