The shifter cable lever had been falling apart and once I replaced it, it shifts very smooth.
Anyone who has 5 speed (mine is 1998 svt kinda old and abused when I got it) and rough shifting 1st and 2nd gear engagement, lift the driver's side and check cables running to your mtx you might be surprised to find out that your shifter cable lever is bad... I noticed it while changing my mtx oil w/ atf +3 (bought for $3/qt at autozone)
NOW I AM EXTREMLY HAPPY W/ PERFORMANCE MY SVT OFFERS!

I don't know much about FWD MTX, what exactly did you do to get this shift lever fixed? If you had any pics, that would help a lot.

My used 00 is shifting rough from 1-2 and sometimes in R. I have the replacement fluid, but I didn't know it might be a slight mechanical issue that can be easily fixed.

Thanks.
