WOW! WICKED CUTE!

Lisa's b-day is tomorrow and for the longest time, I have been wanting to give her a puppy for her birfday....
But I just couldn't decide which kind of dog to raise.
She likes Pomeranians....I don't like their fur (and think they look like rats). She likes a small to medium size dog....I'm ok with that....I want a fat English Bulldog. She loves them....but only when they are puppies. You get the idea....I think we'll end up getting a female boxer....or a mini-pinscher. lol.

Your dog is super cute though! I can't say that I've heard too much of those dogs though. What kind of coat does the dog have (shedding, length, etc..).

Congrats on the new addition!!

That thing is awesome! It totally looks like a Stuffed Animal! I can't get over how small it looks.

We were looking at a couple different breeds that can be left alone in a house, have a good temperament, are not hard to look after, are obedient, and aren't too big:

Brittany Spaniel
Wheaten Terrier
Harrier

We considered a Corgi, but never thought we'd find one up here in New England. Lo and behold!

There are 2 different kinds of Corgi's too. The Pembroke and the Cardigan. The Cardigan has even bigger ears and a longer back that sort of slopes down to shorter rear legs. They look a little too much like a rabbit to me. But the Pembroke is supposed to be easier to train and less likely to be loud and nippy.

As for coat, they shed naturally twice a year. Other than that, brush them once/week with a soft bristle brush and bathe then once per month or if they get really dirty.

More info on the Corgi here:

Also, we picked him up in West Lebanon, NH at a pet store called the Lebanon Pet and Aquarium Center. We heard about them through a family friend who had a great experience purchasing (and living with) a black lab. All of their dogs are pure breds and they all have their papers. They don't buy from animal farms, but only from private breeders. The dogs all come vaccinated and micro-chipped.

We would have never considered a "pet store" purchase given all of the horror stories, but this was recommended and the people there are really great with the pets.

Courtney took Oakley to the vet for his first visit yesterday and they said he looked great! A little Kennel Cough to get rid of, but easily curable.

I miss him so much! I hate work!!!!

they didn't have any pugs when we were there, but they do get them on occasion.

they had a springer spaniel who was a cutie too, but a little too active for us.

don't get me wrong...Oakley is ACTIVE!

and they have a gorgeous husky too.
