I have an uncommon sticking throttle problem. The throttle cable is sticking where it goes through the firewall. I have tried putting antiseize on it and white lithium grease to no avail. What do you suggest I try now? I know for a fact this is where it is sticking b/c I can see it rub on the white whole where the cable is going through the firewall.
I am back... had a loaded 95 SE ATX... now I have a 98 Black SVT.

So how about a little more help here about the vehicle? I had a problem with my Throttle Cable, but that was on my 95 V6. According to your sig, you sold your tour, and we don't know what you're driving now...

I don't notice any fray of the cable... i guess i could pull it through and see what it looks like.

Here was my experience.
At first I thought it was just the pedal sticking. So, I went under the car and started playing with the throttle plate under the hood to see if it was sticking. I'd start with this.
Does it stick, or is it only when you use the pedal?
You only have to worry about 1 cable, so that's a little easier than those of us with TC. The cable could be frayed somewhere within the sheath, causing it to stick.
If you are able to determine it is a throttle problem, then I'd just replace it. Its real easy to do.
Good Luck.

I am certain it is coming from pedal area... I took the cable off of the pedal and then just pulled it with my hand and I can keep it "snag" on something. I mean it looks like it isn't coming through the hole correctly and rubbing the top. I will try to pull the cable through if it ever stops raining here.
