i let my car sit thsi weekend for 2 days straight as i didnt really have anywhere to go. i went to go to kroger tonite (same trip my motorcycle incedent was in) and as i took off, i notices my bearing sqealing quite loudly on the left front. after 3 turns (2 rigths and a left) out of my neighborhood, noise is all gone. did the bearing grease settle or something? cause all is well now...im so confused!

I just had a wheel bearing done last week. Not a squealing noise, more like a loud roaring/whirring from the front end.
If you have squealing it might be from a belt or maybe your brakes.

Yeah me too, my wheel bearings were done after a loud roaring began to get louder as my speed progressed But i agree that a squeeling noise could very well be your belt or something of that nature.

no its nto a belt, it did it when i turned the car off and coasted down the hill.

Have your Serpentine belt looked at. Mine did the same thing before it went, Squealed until the car got a chance to warm it up. No, a wheel bearing is a humming or whirring noise, I have to get my right front done on wednesday.

cant be a belt...motor is off, belts not moving, so it was either brakes or bearing...im not sure sinde it hasnt done it again. but at 84XXX miles it might be due to have the bearinsg done...

ops, I missed that little detail. The only way to be certain is to have a shop look at it. A squeel usualy shows that your brakes are warn, I would say brakes because you have about 80K miles on it, and my mom had her front brakes done at about 80K on her Grand Prix. So sounds about right.

ahha! found it! my return spring on my left rear drum was busted! the shoe was just kinda sitting in the drum, i pulled the drum off and it fell into my lap!
