Actually, that's not correct. If we wanna get technical, the full names of the vehicles are:
SVT F150 Lightning
SVT Mustang Cobra
SVT should come first (Focus and Contour) before the model name.
Yes, but when someone refers to the vehicles, no one says "I drive a 2000 SVT F150 Lightning" or "I drive a 99 SVT Mustang Cobra".
Whereas when referring to the Focus or Contour, "SVT" must be stated before or after "SVT Contour/Focus" "Contour/Focus SVT".
wrong
Right.
I've talked to many Lightning and Cobra owners and NEVER once heard any of them say "I drive a 2000 SVT F150 Lightning" or "I drive a 99 SVT Mustang Cobra".
Did I say "techincal" name? No I didn't. I said in the real world.

They may not refer to it like that, but like I said, "technically" it's the name. And there is no stating SVT after when referring to the Contour or Focus. Focus/Contour SVT is wrong, plain and simple. It's a bit more than a trim level distinction.
Really? Not quite.
Not according to this
Or this
Or this
Or this
Or this
Or this
I could go on...

The P## in VIN in the code is trim level, of which P68 is SVT.
BTW:
P65= 95-98 GL, 98.5-99 LX
P66= 95-98 LX, 98.5-00 SE
P67= 95-98 SE

Fine... if you wanna call it a Contour SVT or a Focus SVT, be my guest. You'd be wrong though. And so would Edmunds and Car Talk and whatever other websites you linked to. Trust me. Not trying to bust your balls, so don't get pissy. Just trying to clear up one of my all-time pet peeves on the Focus and Contour boards.

Who truly cares? Like it's so important that people will lose their brain cells if it's said wrong. These aren't Ferraris or classic Musntangs, but hopped up compact Fords.
SVT is a team that develops performance versions of Ford vehicles. I am sure if you ask one of them they'd be like "Who gives a rats but?"

I'm really having trouble figuring out what you're saying. How do you differentiate between a contour that makes 200 hp and one that only makes 170? I do it by saying "SVT" instead of "SE" How do you do it?
If you want to see cars with only a badge, look at the Dodge RT line.

Not getting "pissy", just having a discussion.
I guess you are in the minority, but I have to say it's really weird that people saying "Contour SVT" or "Focus SVT" is actually an "all time pet peeve" of yours.

lmao I guess we've ran out of things to agrue about on CEG and the politics thing is getting old so we've resorted to arguing about what to call our cars? Man that's funny.
