Preventing the risk of totally hijacking 99MystiqueATX's topic here, I started a new topic.

Many of you see this switch in your Contique:

Many others see this:

From what I've gathered: apparently standard throughout all pre-98 Contiques regardless of model, it was reglated to option status for post-98s, appearing in Mystiques, SVTs, and Contour SE Sports.

Feel free to correct or revise This post might be worthy of the FAQs if it can be assured 100% correct.

In case anyone is stumped like I was for a minute, the lower pics have the dial in the middle to adjust wiper speed by about 4 other speeds. I have this in my 99 SVT so he could be on to something. Kind of an odd observation, but interesting.

Sorry, haha.

The first two pictures are of 99MystiqueATX's vehicle, which has the intermittent wiper dial. The last two are of my vehicle which does not.

I added the first pic editing when you posted , because I noticed that the second when resized did not accurately show the wiper switch

Also note the differences between leather and non-leather steering wheels, noticeable in the closeups.

it makes some sense, if you only have one wiring harness it may be cheaper to make, also any car can be set up anyway by just adding the feature or not adding it, like my 95 Zetec has the wire for the low coolant light but doesn't have the light since it has the zetec and not the duratec
