I have a 1998 Black Ford Contour SE Sport V6 MTX with 81,000 on it. Last week i was nearly run off the road by a green geo hatchback on a 4 lane undivided highway. I locked up my brakes and swerved to the left to avoid jumping my car into a commuter lot. I was going about 50 and did a complete 180 across all 4 lanes and onto the shoulder, which was under construction. it was 11 0'clock at night so traffic was light. Miraculously i barely missed the huge light-up style construction cones and my car was undamaged, except that now occasionally when i turn there is a sound resembling loose change coming from my steering wheel. very few days it will do this for about 10 minutes and only during turns. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I'll appreciate any help i can get.

Removing driver's air bag module to allow inspection of steering wheel innards your best bet. Easy task, but you must first disconnect battery and wait 5 minutes to allow discharge of back-up power for air bag system. Then remove the torx screws on backside of steering wheel in order to allow module to be moved away from steering wheel. An electrical connector will have to be disconnected if you wish to totally remove module.
